Cambodia is located in the heart mainland of Southeast Asia in the southern part of Indochina, which covers an area of 181,035 square kilometers and which conjures images of a glorious and mysterious past and rich of the cultural heritages, particularly the world's renowned ancient temple city whose magical image draws ever-increasingly tourists from all over the world. The country's shape is an almost-square polygon, with Kampong Thom Province as its central point. The country extends 440 kilometers from north to south and 560 kilometers from west to east. Among the ten member countries of the Association of South East Asian Countries (ASEAN), Cambodia ranks eighth in land size and seventh in population. The country has a tropical climate warm and humid.

Boundaries

The borders of the Kingdom of Cambodia encompass 2600 kilometers of which five sixths are land and one sixth is costal border. She is bounded on the northeast by the Peoples Democratic Republic of Laos, on the east and southeast by the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and on the west and northwest by the Kingdom of Thailand. Furthermore, the costal boundary of Cambodia is 440 kilometers with medium depth tropical sea, rich in aquatic creatures. In addition, there are beautiful, uninhabited islands, virgin beaches, white sand and fresh air, which are also good for tourism.
Roads Network
Cambodia's road network is composed of seven main National Roads:
       1- No 1: From Capital City of Phnom Penh to Bavet, via Neak Leung and Svay Rieng Province. It is about 167 kilometers long.
       2- No 2: From Capital City of Phnom Penh to Phnom Den, via Takmao Ville and Takeo Province. It is about 137 kilometers long.
       3- No 3: From Capital City of Phnom Penh to Preah Sihanouk Province, via Kampot Province. It is about 260 kilometers long.
       4- No 4: From Capital City of Phnom Penh to Preah Sihanouk Province, via Kampong Speu Province. It is about 232 kilometers long.
       5- No 5: From Capital City of Phnom Penh to Chroav, via Kampong Chhnang Province, Pursat Province, Battambong Province and Bantey Meanchey Province. It is about 408 kilometers long.
       6- No 6: From Preak Kdam to Bantey Meanchey Province, via Kampong Thom Province and Siem Riep Province. It is about 386 kilometers long.
       7- No 7: From Skun to Stung Treng Province, via Snoul. It is about 543 kilometers long.
Mekong River

The source of the Cambodias Mekong is in the Tibet Plateau, which is about 5000 meters above sea level. Cambodias Mekong River is composed of the Upper Mekong River (Lbakhon to Phnom Penh), the Lower Mekong River (Phnom Penh to Kaom Samnoh), the Bassac River (Phnom Penh to Chhrey Thom about 100 kilometers) and all of the tributaries of the Mekong River.

Tonle Sap

The Tonle Sap is composed of the Tonle Sap River and the Great Lake Tonle Sap. It is about 100 kilometers long. It starts in Phnom Penh and runs to Kampong Chhnang Province. The Great Lake Tonle Sap is 150 kilometers long and 32 kilometers wide.
